Art calendar 2020 of Dortmund City

With financial support from the Sparkasse Dortmund, the cultural department of the city organizes a comprehensive exhibition each year in Dortmund’s U with the participation of around 50 visual artists from the art scene of Dortmund. A jury selects from this spectrum six artists who design the well-known graphic calendar of the city of Dortmund. It appears in a limited edition of 500 copies. All works are signed by hand.

The exhibition for the limited “Art Calendar 2020” will take place from June 6th to June 30th. At the opening of the exhibition on Thursday, 6th June 2019, 7 pm, Susanne Specht will be present with 2 pictures in the foyer of the Dortmunder U.

Switching gaze - Blickwechsel

There is a new artist group in Kamen: The name “Blickwechsel” already refers to the purpose of the group to see art from different angles and perspectives, to allow subjective perceptions and to present different interpretations to a theme. All five artists have been active in the visual field for many years and have been represented in their own exhibitions so far.

In open studios, Blickwechsel offers mutual inspiration, support and collaboration to members. For the first time together, the group will be present on both days of the open studio, 1st and 2nd of June in the rooms of the kitchen studio Specht in Heeren (Märkische Straße 5-9). In addition, a joint exhibition is planned in spring 2020 in Kamen-Mitte.

Projekt “GOYA”

An extraordinarily powerful painting by the Spanish painter Francisco de Goya (1746-1828) was selected by 15 artists of the artists’ group Reflex. The intention is to look at the politically highly topical subject of “war” from the painting originated in 1814, “Der 3. Mai 1808. Die Erschießung der Aufständischen” (span. El 3 de mayo en Madrid : Los fusilamientos des patriotas madrilenos) and to acknowledge this motive of Goya with their translations of this subject.

The artists, painters, graphicers or photographers participating in the exhibition, not only honor the great Spanish painter Goya with their pictures, photos, installations and sculptures, but also take him as a point of beginning and source of inspiration for the very personal examination of the theme “war”.

ART Kamen 2018

The international art fair ART KAMEN took place on the 29th and 30th of September 2018 for the 10th time in the Kamener Stadthalle. The fair is designed as a sales and producer fair and is organized by artists for artists. It also serves as an information and contact exchange for art lovers, artists, galleries and museums.

In 2018, the ART KAMEN had up to 70 professional artists and gallerists that attracted artists from the area of painting, graphic, graphic reproduction, sculpture, object art, photography, installation and design.
